In order to simplify the eligibility criteria for Golden Visas, several significant amendments have been made in recent months.
With respect to specific Emirates, there have been some changes to the eligibility criteria. According to the government portals, these are the criteria for Golden Visa in Dubai:
Golden Visa for scientists
As recommended by the Emirates Scientists Council, this residence is available to scientists and researchers with high achievement and influence:
- "Emirates Scientists Council" or Rashid Award for Scientific Outstanding" letter expressing their recommendation that the candidate was awarded the Medal of Scientific Excellence
- The sponsored passport copy.
Golden Visa for Athletes
Golden Residency Visas are granted to specialised talents and researchers in various fields of science and knowledge for 10 years without a sponsor.
- Requirements:
- It is required that applicants submit a letter of recommendation from the Dubai Sports Council OR the General Authority of Sports in Dubai.
- Sponsored passport copy.
Golden Visa for Doctors
Various specialisations are available in this field. Veterinarians are also included in this category. The Health Authority or Ministry of Health of the country where the doctor practices must issue a letter stating their medical practice.

- The applicant will need to provide a copy of their labour card.
- An official copy of the labour contract from MOHRE.

Golden Visa for Inventors
- Requirements:
- The applicant would need a letter of recommendation from the Ministry of Economy.

Golden Visa for Executive Directors
A Golden Residency Visa is granted to an Executive Director and his family members who are specialised talents and researchers in various fields of science and knowledge for 10 years without a sponsor.
- Requirements:
- Directors would need a "NOC" letter from the company that complies with golden residency requirements and a service period of at least five years as a general manager, executive director, and chairman of the board.
- An equivalency certificate from the Ministry of Education attesting to the equivalent of a higher degree.
- A salary certificate with a minimum monthly salary of AED 50,000 is required.
- A labour contract with the same profession and a salary certificate.
- Last six months' bank statement.
Golden Visa for Specialists in Engineering & Science
Applicants and their family members can apply for a (Golden Residency Visa) to move to the United States for ten years without a sponsor (granted to specialised talents and researchers in various fields of science and knowledge).
- An attestation of the academic degree (bachelor's degree or higher) or a letter of equivalency from the Ministry of Education (in the case of certificates from outside the country).
- A copy of the residency sponsorship.
- A Work contract in a discipline such as epidemiology and disease, artificial intelligence, big data, computer engineering, electronics engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, genetic engineering, or biotechnology engineering.
Golden Visa for Creative Specialist in culture and Art
Applicants and their family members can apply for a (Golden Residency Visa) to move to the United States for ten years without a sponsor (granted to specialised talents and researchers in various fields of science and knowledge).
- Requirements:
- A letter of recommendation from the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority will be required for all applicants.
- Sponsored passport copy.
Golden Visa for real estate investors
Real estate investors can apply for a 10 years renewable residency visa and sponsor their husband, wife, and children if they own a property worth more than AED 2,000,000 during the purchase period.
- A property or ownership share (one or more) with a value of at least 2 million under the applicant's name must have a value of at least 2 million.
- If the property is mortgaged, the bank's NoC letter shows the paid and remaining balance on the property.
Golden Visa for entrepreneurs
An entrepreneur who owns a technical or future economic project based on risk and innovation can apply for a Golden Residency Visa for (5) years. It is also necessary to obtain approval from the Dubai Future Foundation.
Golden Visa for outstanding students
Golden residency visas are granted to outstanding students for five or ten years, which can be automatically renewed if the same conditions are met.
- Requirements
- High school graduate
- A letter of recommendation from the Ministry of Education.
- A copy of the sponsored residency (only for Dubai residents).
- A copy of the sponsored passport is required.
- Universities graduate
- Attestation of a degree (bachelor's degree or higher) and academic transcripts.
- A copy of the sponsored residency (only for Dubai residents).
- A copy of the sponsored passport is required.
Golden Visa for Retired Foreigners
The Golden Residency Visa category allows retired foreigners to stay in the country for up to five years without a sponsor.
- Requirement:
- A bank letter with a deposit or income of AED15,000 or real estate ownership with a value of AED1 million would be required for the application.
Golden Visa For Investors
(Golden Residency Visa) is granted for a period of five or ten years and is automatically renewed if the same conditions are met each year
- Investor in an investment fund (commercial investor)
- The financial report of the company for the previous year (prepared by the auditor of the company)
- A copy of the list of partners' names and the company's trade license
- A copy of the residency sponsorship
- Detailed bank statement of the company (last three months)
- Return on VAT for the previous year submitted by the company
- Investor in an investment fund (deposit)
- Arabic bank letter demonstrating a "fix deposit". The letter must include a note. It is the responsibility of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs - Dubai to inform the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs - Dubai if the fixed deposit has been broken for any reason.

- Investor in (Tax Return Investor)
- An official letter from the Federal Tax Authority.
- A copy of the company's trade license and a list of the company's partners.
