Self Sponsor Your Stay in UAE with the Remote Work Visa

According to UAE Government, the remote work visa allows foreign employees to remain in the UAE while working for their existing employers outside the UAE.

To attract global talent, in 2021, the UAE cabinet recently approved a Remote Work Visa program to allow employees worldwide to work remotely from the UAE. According to the visa terms and conditions, foreigners can enter the UAE on a one-year visa under self-sponsorship.

The UAE has started this virtual working program that allows foreigners to relocate to Dubai (from outside the UAE) and continue working for their employers remotely under this program.

Applicants for the virtual working program must meet the eligibility criteria to be considered for the opportunity. These include people living and working outside the UAE. According to the UAE government, if an applicant decides to move to Dubai, they can also sponsor their family to live there.

This program is valid for one year and is renewable upon reapplication. 

Eligibility criteria to obtain a virtual work visa in UAE

The UAE offers remote work visas to expatriates who meet the eligibility requirements. Applications that are in order and submitted according to the rules can expect expedited approval.

To be eligible for this program, applicants must have a passport valid for at least 6 months and good health insurance covering their stay in the UAE.

Applicants who are employees must:

• Prove employment by obtaining a one-year contract from their current employer;
• Get a monthly salary of at least USD 5,000.
• Provide a three-month salary slip and bank statement.

An applicant who owns a business must:

• Prove ownership of the company for at least one year.
• Earn an average of USD 5,000 a month
• Submit bank statements for the past three months
